    In 1984 Carl Allen, of the Wanderer's was chosen to recreate Woody Guthrie's life during the period he spent on the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest and perform the 29 songs Woodie wrote during this period. Mr Allen has been performing as Woodie Guthrie throughout the US ever since.
