Animals in Art

Presented by Prescott Fine Arts Association at Prescott Fine Arts Gallery

Animals in Art examines the unique place animals have in the human heart as nature supplies the subject and the artists supply the talent. Featured subjects are animals ranging from household pets to those found in the wild, real or surreal. Curators: Scott Heide, Raelynn Wrinkle, and Lou Ann Lucas. Sponsored by Olsen's Grain. Funded in part by: Arizona Commission on Arts and National Endowment for The Arts. Opening Reception: April 30th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Look for artists whose work is represented in the show mingling with guests. Light refreshments will be available. On the outside courtyard, various local animal rescue organizations and local pet and animal based businesses will be on hand to inform and enlighten all attendees on their causes and products. Additional Information: 4th Friday Art Walk: May 28th from 5:00pm-7:30pm. Opening Night April 30th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, the artist whose work is represented in the show will be on had to discuss their art and mingle with guests. On the outside courtyard, various local animal rescue organizations and local pet and animal based businesses will be on hand to inform and enlighten all attendees on their causes and product. Light refreshment will be available and all are welcome. Related Activities: Paw Print Party, to be held on Saturday, May 22 from 1:00-4:00pm. Pet owners have the opportunity to let their pets become artists. Owners can paint their pet's paws with non-toxic, paint, and lead them to walk on a large art canvas. Later, this canvas will be stretched and framed, then raffled off. Owners will receive a medallion with their pet's paw print, plus a raffle ticket for a nominal fee. Additional raffle tickets will be available for sale.
